Host Organization: Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI)
Department: Industry, Science and Technology International Strategy Center (ISTI)
Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan

Interns will assist with:
Developing strategies for international cooperation
Planning partnership mechanisms
Conducting ecosystem assessments
Managing and expanding international partnerships
Supporting collaborative international projects

Nationality Requirement:
Only non-ROC (Taiwan) passport holders are eligible for this program
ROC citizens (with no foreign passport) must apply separately by contacting the department directly

Student Status:
Must provide proof of student status (during and after internship) from a university
Graduated students are not eligible

Academic Background:
Open to undergraduate, master’s, or PhD students
Preferred fields: International Relations, Business, Economics, etc.

Required Skills & Experience:
Logical thinking, strong communication, teamwork, stress management
Experience in international business, client management, or government projects is a plus

Internship Period
Summer internships: Minimum 10 weeks between May and September
Longer internships (4–6 months) available year-round
Flexible start/end dates based on mutual agreement — indicate your desired dates when applying

What ITRI Provides
Note: Actual offer details may vary depending on the department and your background.
Accommodation: On-campus dormitories with dining and recreational facilities
Monthly Stipend: NT$24,000 – NT$40,000 before tax
Insurance: Free group accident insurance (does not include full medical coverage)

Application Timeline
Summer: Rolling admission — positions remain open until filled
Other Seasons: No set deadline — apply 3–4 months in advance of your desired start date

Additional Notes
Working Language: English (Mandarin only required if specified in job description)
Travel Expenses: Interns are responsible for their own airfare and travel costs (unless otherwise stated)
Remote Internships: Generally based in Taiwan, but remote applications will be considered — mention it in your application
Visa Support: ITRI will help obtain work/internship permission. Interns must apply for an ROC visa before arriving

Special Note for Foreign Males of Taiwanese Descent
If you're male, aged 18–40, and of Taiwanese descent (even with a foreign passport), avoid staying in Taiwan for over 4 months due to military service risk
Contact your local Taiwan representative office or Taiwan's Ministry of the Interior for clarification
