Program Curriculum

MLNGT requires completion of a minimum of **37 credits (including 6 credits of thesis ) for graduation.

Students can normally complete all their courses in 2 years to fulfill all the program requirements.

貿易實務法律暨談判碩士學位學程課程規畫說明

本學程的教育目標，在於「培育貿易實務法律暨談判人才，即兼具整合性經貿法律專業知識及英語交涉能力之公私部門實務人才。」為達成此目標，本學程在課程規劃與設計面向，以「實務導向」及「國際導向」為基本定位，致力於為產業界、民間機構、公部門，培育兼具「整合性經貿法律專業知識」與「英語交涉能力」的實務應用型人才。其中「整合性經貿法律專業知識」著眼於經貿實務，以實用法律知識為經，廣博的財經知識為緯的綜合應用性知識體系；而「英語交涉能力」係以英語文能力為基礎，再強化跨國溝通、協商談判的概念與技巧。

依據上述理念，本學程的課程規劃，一方面力求實務導向，引進實務界專業人士參與，針對欠缺實務經驗之年輕學子提供校外實習機會；另一方面重視國際導向，包括課程內容與教學活動等，均具備國際意識，期能有效培養出經貿實務人才，確保教育目標的達成。本學程以「經貿法律知識」與「英語交涉能力」為貫通課程結構的二道主軸。在必修課程方面，僅在一年級規劃「國際經貿法律與政策專題」與「國際經貿談判原理」二門必修課，賦予學生極大化的選修課程空間。在專業選修課程方面，除安排一系列的經貿法律相關課程，如「貿易救濟與爭端解決案例研究」、「跨國商務交易及法律問題專題」、「國際商務契約撰擬與管理專題」、「國際租稅與跨國購併專題」、「國際商務爭議管理專題」、「國際投資法專題」，亦有以培育英語交涉能力為目的之特色課程，如「口語論證與說服：理論與實務」與「英文商務文件寫作」等課程；更有兼容二者，如「貿易實務與談判專題研討」課程，以期透過理論與實務兼備的學習途徑，系統化的提升同學們關於國際經貿及商務交涉能力。    

Program Description of the Master’s Program on Law and Negotiation for Global Trade

The educational objective of this program is to cultivate professionals in trade law and negotiation, specifically those who possess both integrated expertise in international trade law and English negotiation skills, and who are capable of serving in both the public and private sectors. To achieve this objective, the program’s curriculum is designed with a dual emphasis on practical orientation and international orientation, aiming to nurture application-oriented talents who can combine practical knowledge of trade law with strong abilities in English-based negotiation.

The “integrated expertise in international trade law” focuses on practical applications, forming a comprehensive knowledge system that weaves together practical legal knowledge (as the warp) and broad financial and economic knowledge (as the weft). The “English negotiation skills” are built upon a solid foundation of English language proficiency, further strengthened by training in cross-border communication, negotiation concepts, and practical techniques.

In accordance with these guiding principles, the program’s curriculum planning emphasizes both practical orientation and international orientation. On the practical side, industry professionals are invited to participate in course delivery, and students lacking practical experience are offered opportunities for off-campus internships. On the international side, both the course content and teaching activities are infused with global perspectives, aiming to foster trade law and negotiation professionals who can meet the needs of an increasingly internationalized environment.

The program is structured around two central pillars: trade law knowledge and English negotiation skills. In terms of required courses, only two are mandated in the first year—Seminar on International Trade Law And Policy and Principles in International Business and Economic Negotiations—allowing students substantial flexibility in selecting electives.

The professional elective courses include a wide range of trade law–related courses, such as:

• Trade Remedy and Dispute Settlement: Case Studies
• Seminar on International Business Transactions and Relevant Legal Issues
• Seminar on Drafting and Management of International Business Contract
• International Taxation and Crossborder M&A
• Management of International Commercial Disputes
• International Investment Law

Additionally, courses designed to strengthen English negotiation skills are offered, such as Oral Argumentation and Persuasion: Theory and Practice and Writing Business Documents in English. There are also courses that integrate both dimensions, such as Discussions in Practical Trade and Negotiation Issues, which seek to systematically enhance students’ international trade knowledge and negotiation capabilities through a balanced combination of theory and practice.
