MOE & MOFA Taiwan Scholarship

【Scholarship Announcement】MOE & MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Information

International students applying for (and enrolled in ) our Master's Program may be eligible for the following two national scholarships. Please review the details below carefully.

⚠️ Important Notice:

  1. All application documents must be submitted to the Taiwan Representative Office (Embassy/Mission) in your country, NOT to the university.

  2. The information below is a summary for reference only. Please refer to the official website and your local Taiwan Representative Office for the most up-to-date regulations.

1. MOE Taiwan Scholarship (Ministry of Education)

Provided by the Ministry of Education, this scholarship is suitable for most international students.

  • Eligibility: Foreign nationals with a high school diploma or higher, excellent academic records, and good moral character (excluding nationals of the R.O.C., Hong Kong, Macau, and China).

  • Award Duration (Master's): 2 years (From September 1st to August 31st of the following year).

  • Benefits:

    • Tuition & Miscellaneous Expenses: The MOE provides a subsidy of up to NTD 40,000 per semester.

      • Note: Any amount exceeding NTD 40,000 must be paid by the student. This subsidy does not cover insurance, accommodation, or internet fees.

    • Monthly Stipend: NTD 20,000 per month for Master's students.

  • Application Period: Principally from February 1st to March 31st each year (subject to the announcement of the local Taiwan Representative Office).

  • Ineligibility (You cannot apply if):

    • You hold R.O.C. nationality or "Overseas Chinese" student status.

    • You are already enrolled in a university in Taiwan (except for graduating students applying for the next degree level).

    • You are an exchange student or dual-degree student.

    • You have received this scholarship for a total of more than 5 years.

  • Language Requirement:

    • Applicants for full English-taught programs must submit TOEFL scores or other recognized English proficiency test results (native English speakers are exempt).

2. MOFA Taiwan Scholarship (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

Provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, primarily for students from countries with diplomatic ties or friendly relations with Taiwan.

  • Eligibility: Citizens of countries with diplomatic ties or friendly relations with Taiwan (excluding R.O.C. nationals and Overseas Chinese students).

  • Award Duration: 2 years. If the recipient is unable to arrive in Taiwan in August of the first year, the scholarship will commence from the month of arrival, and the scholarship expiration date shall not be extended.

  • Benefits:

    • Monthly Stipend: NTD 33,000 per month.

    • Airfare: One-way economy class tickets for the most direct route to Taiwan and back to the home country.

    • Note: This scholarship does not provide a separate tuition subsidy. Students must pay for tuition and all living expenses in Taiwan using the monthly stipend.

  • Application Period: Principally from February 1st to March 31st each year (subject to the announcement of the local Taiwan Representative Office).

  • Ineligibility (You cannot apply if):

    • Nationality & Status:

      • You hold R.O.C. (Taiwan) nationality.

      • You have the status of an "Overseas Chinese" student.

    • Enrollment & Program:

      • You have previously studied in Taiwan for the same level of degree as the one you are currently applying for (e.g., you cannot apply for a Master's scholarship if you have already studied in a Master's program in Taiwan).

      • You are an exchange student admitted under an academic cooperation agreement between universities.

    • Past Records:

      • You have previously had a scholarship revoked by an R.O.C. government agency or related institution.

  • Language Requirement:

    • Applicants for full English-taught programs must submit TOEFL scores or other recognized English proficiency test results (native English speakers are exempt).

📝 Application Process & Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents to the Taiwan Representative Office in their home country within the specified deadline:

  1. Scholarship Application Form (Please refer to the scholarship announcement of the relevant Taiwan Representative Office).

  2. Copy of Passport or other documents proving nationality.

  3. Copy of Highest Degree Diploma and Transcripts (documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by an authenticated translation).

  4. Proof of Application for Admission to this university (e.g., application fee receipt, copy of the admission application form, or email confirmation of receipt).

  5. Language Proficiency Proof ( English proficiency test for English programs).

💼 Work & Internship Regulations

  • Scholarship recipients who wish to work, take a part-time job, or participate in an internship must apply for a Work Permit in accordance with the Ministry of Labor regulations.

【獎學金公告】教育部與外交部臺灣獎學金資訊 

有意申請本學位學程之外國學生，可依據自身條件申請以下兩種國家級獎學金。申請者務必詳閱以下資訊。

⚠️ 重要須知：

  1. 所有申請文件請自行至我國駐外館處繳交，非繳交給學校。

  2. 以下資訊僅供參考，完整規定請依官方網站公告為主。

1. 教育部臺灣獎學金 (MOE Taiwan Scholarship)

由教育部提供，適合大多數國際學生申請。

  • 申請對象： 具高級中等以上學歷，成績優良、品行端正之外國籍人士（不含港澳陸生）。

  • 受獎期限（碩士）： 2年（每年9月1日起至次年8月31日）。

  • 獎學金待遇：

    • 學雜費補助： 每學期補助新臺幣 40,000元 為上限（不足部分由學生自行負擔；不含保險、住宿等費用）。

    • 生活補助費： 碩士生每月新臺幣 20,000元。

  • 申請時間： 原則上為每年 2月1日至3月31日（以駐外館處公告為準）。

  • 申請資格限制（有下列情形者不可申請）：

    • 具僑生身分或中華民國國籍。

    • 已在臺註冊就讀（應屆畢業申請下一階段學位者除外）。

    • 交換學生或雙聯學位生。

    • 總受獎期限超過5年者。

  • 語言能力證明：

    • 申請全英語學程者，需提具托福 (TOEFL) 成績或其他認可之英語測驗證明（母語為英語者免繳）。

2. 外交部臺灣獎學金 (MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Program)

由外交部提供，主要針對與臺灣有邦交或友好關係國家之學生。

  • 申請對象： 與臺灣具有邦交或外交部承認之友好關係國家之學生（不含僑生及我國國籍者）。

  • 受獎期限： 2年。如受獎學生無法於首年八月抵臺,其獎學金應自抵臺當月起算,且受獎屆滿期限不得順延。

  • 獎學金待遇：

    • 生活補助費： 每月新臺幣 33,000元。

    • 機票補助： 提供來臺及返國最直接航程單程經濟艙機票各一張。

    • 注意： 此獎學金不提供學雜費補助，學生須自行運用生活補助費繳交學費及在臺開銷。

  • 申請時間： 原則上為每年 2月1日至3月31日（以駐外館處公告為準）。

  • 申請資格限制（有下列情形者不可申請）：

    • 國籍與身分限制：

      • 具有中華民國國籍。

      • 具有我國「僑生」身分。

    • 學籍與課程限制：

      • 曾在臺就讀擬申請之「同等級」學位課程（例如：已在臺灣讀過碩士，不得再申請碩士班獎學金）。

      • 受獎期間為各大學校院依據學術合作協議所招收之「交換學生」。

    • 過往紀錄限制：

      • 曾被我國政府機關或相關機構註銷獎學金資格。

  • 語言能力證明：

    • 申請全英語學程者，應提出托福 (TOEFL) 或其他認可之英語能力證明（母語為英語者免繳）。

📝 申請流程與應備文件

請於各駐外館處指定期限內，檢附以下文件提出申請：

  1. 獎學金申請表（請洽駐外館處獎學金相關公告）。

  2. 護照或國籍證明文件影本。

  3. 最高學歷證明及成績單影本（中、英文以外之語文須附認證譯本）。

  4. 已向我國大學申請入學之證明（如：報名費收據、入學申請表影本、學校收件回條等）。

  5. 語言能力證明（英語能力證明）。

💼 打工與實習規範

  • 受獎學生若需打工、工讀或實習，必須依我國勞動部規定申請工作許可證 (Work Permit) 方可進行。
