Second Visit to Chen & Chang, Attorneys-at-Law, Taipei

本日高啟中老師再次帶領同學參訪眾才國際律師事務所。本次參訪由該事務所共同創辦人與主持律師 - 張詩芸律師 - 負責接待。張律師首先介紹替代性爭端解決機制 (alternative dispute resolution; ADR) 的概念，接著針對調解制度進行講解，主題涵蓋調解的意義、評價式調解 (evaluative mediation) 與促進式調解 (facilitative mediation) 的類型區分，調解的七大要素，即利益 (interests)、選項 (options)、判斷標準 (criteria)、替代方案 (alternative)、溝通 (communication)、當事人關係 (relations)、承諾 (commitments)；最後並重點講述調解的大致過程。參訪師生與張律師在參訪過程中進行熱烈交流與討論。本次參訪歷時2小時，圓滿成功。

This afternoon, Prof. Kao led students to visit Chen & Chang, Attorneys-at-Law for the second time. Today’s visit was hosted by Attorney Alison Chang, the firm's Co-founder and Managing Partner. Attorney Chang began by introducing the concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). She then proceeded to elaborate on the mediation system, covering topics such as:

• The meaning of mediation.
• The distinction between types of mediation, namely evaluative mediation and facilitative mediation.
• The seven elements of mediation: Interests / Options / Criteria / Alternative / Communication / Relations / Commitments
• The general process of mediation.

Prof. Kao and students engaged in a lively exchange and discussion with Attorney Chang throughout the visit. The visit lasted for two hours and concluded successfully.
